Most of us use 'shoulds' to fuel our work without realizing it. While it might help us achieve our goals, it isn't an enjoyable way to work and often leaves us feeling unfulfilled and missing a deeper sense of satisfaction. Within our 'shoulds' exists our wants; this workshop will help participants identify and clarify their wants underneath their 'shoulds', which is a hack towards driving more flow, tapping into easeful productivity and doing work that feels more in personal alignment.

UMS 101: Talking Tabla
Learn about the tabla, the principal percussion instrument in Hindustani classical music, played by Salar Nader in his upcoming performance with Third Coast Percussion. Led by tabla teacher Pavan Kanekal, this 90-minute workshop will highlight the instrument’s history and technique in a session that includes conversation and demonstration in a fun, casual setting.
Tickets to Third Coast Percussion and Salar Nader’s performance are sold separately.
UMS 101 workshops are related to mainstage performances on the UMS season. Workshops are tailored for audience members who want to familiarize themselves with or deepen their understanding of a particular genre and performing artist in a fun, casual learning environment.
Each UMS 101 workshop is facilitated by a professional, community-based practicing artist/educator and features conversation, engaging activities, and live demonstrations that enhance each participant’s experience attending the full performance or can be enjoyed as a stand-alone experience.

Cookie Decorating Workshop with Laurel Twist
Join us for a hands-on cookie decorating class where we will learn the basics of decorating with royal icing. This class is designed for all skill levels with step-by-step instruction and all supplies will be provided, including 6 pre-baked cookies. During this 1.5-2 hour class, we will practice piping icing using practice sheets, learn how to outline and flood cookies including wet-on-wet decorating, and leave with 6 delicious edible masterpieces.

Winter Wreath Workshop with Wildscape Floral Co.
Join Chelsea of Wildscape Floral Co. to create your own winter wreath!
Participants will be guided through crafting their own wreath using evergreens, brass bells, ribbon and seasonal berries - with plenty of time to create on your own and mingle. Everyone will go home with a wreath that is artfully created and unique to them.
Ticket price includes all materials for one person to make a wreath, with warm beverages and treats included.
Parking is FREE downtown on Sundays!
