In 2016, a group of Ann Arbor entrepreneurs found themselves looking for opportunities to foster startup culture in the Midwest. As proud residents of Ann Arbor themselves, they saw the city’s potential to become a major force in the tech industry — and embarked on the challenge of building a tech hub that would inspire people to gather, work, and exchange great ideas.
Cahoots has served hundreds of entrepreneurs, innovators, and more since opening in 2019. Today, Cahoots is home to Ann Arbor-based tech companies and remote worker professionals, as well as journalists, designers, educators, researchers and more.
We’re a gathering place, an event venue, and even a coffee shop — but most of all, we’re a community. The spirit of collaboration draws startups, businesses, and individuals, to work side-by-side and support each other’s growth.

About the Space
From the moment you walk through our historic front door, Cahoots’ core community-first philosophy is evident in every detail of space. Start with a locally sourced coffee in our coffee shop, head to your desk to get deep work done, and debrief with coworkers in our state of the art conference rooms, or get ideas out in a breakout space. Wind down after work at one of our community happy hours in our event space. Thoughtful and interesting design sensibilities are emphasized throughout the building, and its layout is designed to facilitate networking and learning, while providing an inspiring environment for creativity and collaboration.
