Architecture of Ann Arbor with Josh Lipnik

We believe life is richer when you create meaningful connections with the places you live in, and Architecture Photographer Josh Lipnik embodies that spirit. A graduate of UM, Lipnik has grown a following with his stunning eye for detail and knack for finding magic in the mundane of everyday life. This past month, he came and gave a talk to a captivated crowd as he shared more on the architects that shaped Ann Arbor, and some of the hidden gems found throughout the area.

One of these gems included the historic building that Cahoots is in, which was originally home to the Ann Arbor Tribune, one of the largest German news publications in the United States at the time. It stayed in the German community when Kleinschmidt Insurance bought the building, and is preserved today as part of downtown's architectural masterpieces.

A special thanks goes out to our Community Coordinator Tommy Herman for organizing this event and inviting Lipnik to share with us. Tommy has a degree in urban planning and we love seeing the way his passion for connecting community in a meaningful way comes through in his job. This was Tommy’s very first event he organized at Cahoots and it was a full house, with excited participants joining us from all over the area.

If you missed the talk, be sure to check out his print store here, and don’t forget to sign up for our newsletter to be notified of upcoming events to connect with downtown Ann Arbor.
